. Several of his socialite paintings have hung in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in N.Y.C. The framing of Col. Crosby is the same as the other portraits. Col. John Schuyler Crosby was aide to camp for General P.H. Sheridan and is the great grandson of William Floyd, signer of the Declaration of Independence . Oil Portrait Exceptional Pair of 1750 oil portraits on original canvas…basically untouched! Dr. & Mrs. Geigyer of Hesse one of the original German states that sent mercenaries to America to fight colonists in the American Revolution. Old Period frames. Names of both are carved in the back of the frames with chalk notation on Mrs. Geigyer's frame that her husband was the court physician to the ruler of Hesse. He is holding a pillbox in his painting.
